The Horn

So, today I dropped the girls off for mutual. And on my way home I saw some Beehives that are in my ward and they were walking to mutual and they were right where I had to turn but on the sidewalk instead of the road. So I get in the turning lane and I honk the horn at them really loud. And I guess sort of long, cuz when I turned the corner the horn started going off without me touching it and just kept going off. And it wouldn't stop!!! So I'm driving home and the horn won't stop going off. Wow I have never laughed so hard while driving in my whole life and been so embarrassed at the same time. So I was frantically trying to figure out how to make it stop. And I figured out that if I held my hand on the horn and just pushed it a little it would stop. So I get to the stop sign at the top of the street and I have to turn, and I couldn't keep a constant pressure so the horn starts going off again. So I call my mom at home and she can barely understand me cuz the horn is going off and I was laughing so hard. So I get home and in the garage and my mom comes out and I tell her the whole story and we are both cracking up. Well, she tried to get my dad while I was on my way home but he was in the bathroom. And with him you never know how long he will be in there. So my mom goes inside and just leaves me out in the garage alone. At this time my arm starts to hurt, cuz I can't move it. So I call the best car man I know... Fred. Well, he answers the phone and asks whats up. So I tell him whats up and I ask him how to fix it. And he gives me a couple ways. So we get off the phone and my dad pops his head into the garage and looks at me and goes back inside. So I honk at him. He finally comes out after my arm had officially formed car horn holding muscles and asks me why I broke the horn. Well that just got me going and as you all know I can't tell a story while laughing. Good thing my mom can interpret so she told him what I said cuz I was laughing so hard I was crying and I couldn't stop. My mom decided she needed pics and went to get her camera and my dad fixed the car. Debbie had this happen to her a few years ago and I remember laughing so hard and thinking I would die if that ever happened to me. Well, I'm still alive. Don't tell me Heavenly Father doesn't have a sense of humor, Cuz I'm pretty dang sure him and all his angel friends were laughing pretty hard. The end. This past forever!

Hey all! Sorry I've been slacking uber on blogging! I'm sure most of you have heard my most recent embarrassing story, but its always fun t retell. Oh and Ali, you haven't heard it! So here it is!!! The night... of.. Senior Cotillion... it was Weber's Senior Cotillion, and my friend Luis asked me to go with him. So, that day we went to Toad's and we did go karting, which was fun, and mini golfing, which was fun but I was not good at any means. So then I go home and madly start getting ready, and then we had Brandon's baptism, which was amazing. After that we went home and I was getting ready and I had like 3 little attendants haha. Jasi, Jade and Syd were all helping me get ready and paint my nails and with makeup and my hair. So I get ready and I remember that I want to take my phone, because what if something happened like I needed to get out of there some reason ya know. Well, I don't like to tote around a purse and my phone was the only thing I was bringing... so we decided my bra would work just wonderfully. Well, we all know my chest isn't huge, so its kinda hard to like hide a phone down the front of my dress. But with the help of the 3 girls and all their hands down my dress we figured it out. So we go upstairs and ask Britt if she can tell I have a cell phone there, and she almost died laughing. (Everyone was over at our place after the baptism). Well, Luis comes and we take pics and then we went to dinner at La Ferovia's MY FAVORITE PLACE!!! AH ITS SOOOO GOOD! Then we headed to Weber for the dance. So we get there and we were meeting our friends Jaime and Robli there... well, we can't find them. So Signs (thats Luis' nickname I gave him forever ago) asks me if I have my phone. And I said yeah. And he asked if I wanted to call Jaime. I said "let's keep looking". Haha, so we keep looking and we cannot find them ANYWHERE! So we go back out in the hall. And Signs says, "I think you should call Jaime." "you want me to call him?" "Yeah, call Jaime." "Ok... if you want me to." SO.. I take his shoulders and turned him around, and he missed the memo for him to stay turned around, and he turned around and saw me with my hand down the front of my dress pulling out my pink Razr. Yep. So I instantly go bright red, and he says really loud, "Oh.. OH!" And turns back around really fast. So, I try to call Jaime, and he doesn't answer. So, I've got my phone, and he is like watching me. So I say I have to go to the bathroom. So I go to the bathroom and put my phone back, and I come out again, and he is like staring right at my chest. So I'm bright red again, and then he stops and we start walking back in and he's like "I was wondering where your phone was when you said you had it." I just about died. So the rest of the night was pretty uneventful. That's about it except for there are 10 more days not counting weekends till I'm out of school!!!! WHOO HOO! FINALLY! Oh! Yesterday Reggie taught me something. Cuz he has two horses up at grandma's that aren't' trained so he taught me "pressure and release" so I can go up and work with them a bit Ü so I think I will go up there soon to do that hopefully. Well, school is going well, sort of... I just need to BE OUT OF THERE!!! Haha, I love you all! Ali tell the girls hi for me and I'm excited to see them!

A long time!

Wow I haven't posted for quite some time! Holy cow! I'll work on that! Life is good! I'm really busy with school and work, but its fun! I had to quit track because I lost a lot of weight and I was getting shin splints again, and it was only two weeks into the season. Last night Aimee and I went and saw 10,000 BC and I really enjoyed it. Some parts were a little weird, like the convulsing lady, and some parts were a little intense. I'm so excited for Saturday, because the boys have the priesthood meeting and so us girls and the Houghton girls are going to have a girls night and watch Enchanted and do nails and eat ice cream and stuff. By the way I LOVE the movie Enchanted! I bought it like the day after it came out. Whoop whoop! Tonight we are having Hawaiian haystacks and I am so excited, because they are like almost the best. I have a new addiction... called OREO CAKESTERS! Oh my heavens are they good! Anyways, I think that's about all for my life as of now! I'll post again soon!

BYU

Hey everyone! I have a story, even though you've probably all heard it before! Ok, so it started in art class when I was rotting away. My phone buzzes so I look at it and its a text from my mom and it said "call me as soon as you get out of class" So I started thinking that I'm in trouble and I was trying to figure out what I was in trouble for. And I couldn't think of anything at all. Cuz I'm a perfect angel, duh! So I get out of class and I wait a couple minutes and then I call my mom. So I'm walking down the noisy hall and she tells me to go somewhere quiet so I can hear what she has to say. And I just tell her to talk loud and I can hear fine. But she repeats her request so I think someone died or is in a coma or there was a bad accident or something, so I head into the bathroom and I tell her I'm in there and she starts be saying "the Director of Admissions from BYU called" and I was like woah slow down, people of his authority and position don't just make house calls. Thats what I was thinking, but really I said "Wait, he called?" and she says yes and starts telling me how he called and apparently he read my letters of recommendation from my seminary teacher and bishop and stake president and what I wrote and he was like she needs to go here or something like that so he took my stuff to the board (cuz otherwise, like academically I wouldn't have gotten in) so he took it to the board and they all agreed with him so then he called my house asking for me but I wasn't there so he talked to my mom. And then I called him Friday and told him I'd go there. Whoo hoo!!! I'm so excited. Some of you have been wondering what I wrote in the essay I sent off to them to sell myself basically, so here it is.

"One of my best qualities is leadership. I’m a great leader.
I worked at Aspen Ridge Boy Scout Camp for two summers (2005 and 2006) as a Merit Badge Counselor and a Troop Guide. I taught merit badge classes 3 times a day, led songs, life guarded the lake during free time, participated in skits, helped my troop when needed, participated in flag ceremonies and flag retirements, and cleaned all sorts of nasty scout things (including dishes and outhouses). As a Venture Scout, I have assisted on five Woodbadge courses, teaching adults about Leave No Trace and other various scout topics.
I achieved my Young Woman in Excellence Award, between the age of 16 and 17.
I’m on my Stake Youth Council and President of my Laurel class. At my Stake Girl’s Camp (2007) I led most devotionals, flag ceremonies, and meetings during the week of Girl’s Camp.
Last trimester I was the class president for a Special Needs Seminary class where I was privileged to assist special need students at Seminary. Everyday I was able to help them understand the gospel and the Old Testament.
This last Friday (November 9, 2007) I had an opportunity to travel to Salt Lake for a political seminar. I had one of the top 12 grades in my C.E. U.S. History Class last year so I was able to attend. Rob Bishop taught seminars and gave talks all throughout the day, as well as other political leaders such as Gary R. Herbert, the Lieutenant Governor of Utah.
I currently am employed at Acres Market in Ogden, UT, where I work at least 20 hours a week bagging groceries. Out of my one year working there I have never missed a day.
I hope you will consider me to be a potential BYU student for Fall 2008."

Hello all! I haven't posted on here for a while. So I figured I would. Last Sunday I wore my dress and hair all fancy to church. and there is this cute little autistic girl in my ward names Marissa. Well, during YW Marissa kept asking people "What happened to Emily? What happened to Emily?" So after I was done with opening exersises I went over to her and said hi to her and she said "Emily what happened to you?" and I asked her what she meant, and she said "You got transformed into beautiful!" It totally made my day, she is such a sweet girl. I have my pics back from the dance, so I will scan and post! I love my mom, she is the best! This past week has been fun, I really can't remember much except it was just all a blur of school and work. Thiw weekend, however, was a blast! I sw some of you on Sunday (Britt, baby Pryce is such a doll! Oh he's so precious!) On Monday, my family went to the mall, Fat Cats, RC Willey, and sizzler. 8 hours. wow, we had a lot of fun, but by the end we were all funned out and tired. My dad was still going strong when we hit Office Max as our last stop of the day. I was impressed. Talk about endurance. He was a trooper. Man he spoiled us. well, thats about it, love you all!

My week

So my mom and dad left Saturday. Last Saturday. So we partied. Just kidding. We just had doughnuts and chocolate milk for breakfast to celebrate. We went to Grandma's ward on Sunday and it snowed way way hard and when we tried to get in her driveway we got stuck. So Aimee and I dug it out. That was fun. Not. Then we watched the Superbowl and if any of you give me ANY crap about the Patriots all hell will really break loose. (FRED- yes, my parents read this blog) But the Giants did have a good defense. Anyways. The week went pretty smoothly. We had UBSCT testing so Aimee got to test while I slept in and went to school at 10. Now that was nice. One day while I was at school a dumb announcement went on about if you parked at this place you had to move or you'd get towed. So i went and moved my car. Well, the next day I was driving arond trying to find some place to park and there was this old guy out shoveling so I get out of my car and ask if I can park in front of his house that day cuz I couldn't find anywhere else to park. He tells me that I can and if the snow plows come through and try to take my license plate number he would say it was his car. Then he started going off... "I have kids that live right across the street from me" (he lived pretty close to the school) "and they drive to school and take a parking space, I think that's a bunch of bull****" I agreed with him. And I had to walk away just a little bit speedy so he wouldn't hear me laugh. I hope your like that when you get older grandma. Grandpa is already like that, so we don't have to wat on him :). The rest of the week was nice, we just sat around home, did what we do best... play the Wii and eat. Grandma left on Wednesday morning, so then I was in charge. It was pretty fun, but very very VERY tiring. Then Saturday came. And this is how it went. I got up at 8 and had a shower and then I ran to get the jeep washed. I came home and cleaned a bit and decided what to wear and I vacuumed the jeep. I went and picked up Gabe, came back here, picked up Alyssa and Porter, and went Laser Tagging at Toads. We split up into boys against girls... bad idea. We got our butts kicked... three times over! It was fun though. then we went to Farr's for ice cream, came back here for a little bit of HOMESTARRUNNER.COM... basically the funniest thing ever invented. Then I ran Gabe home and I ran to my hair appointment... the outcomes are below in the pics... my butt hurt so freakin' bad after... then I ran home as fast as I could and put my dress on and made Aimee help me put it on and help me get in the jeep. Have I mentioned how much I love that jeep? Well, I went and picked up Gabe but I was late... oops! He looked freakin' hot... way cute kid, his hair was AWESOME! Took pics, came here, took more pics, went to Alyssa's to meet up, went to dinner. I LOVE SUSHI! Oh geez, if heaven had a taste that would be it! Except for that mushroom I ate... GAG! It was hard to get that one down. Wowee. We went to Windi's Sukyaki for dinner, and oh dang it was good. And it was cool, we had to take off our shoes, so I shrunk... like 2 inches. Haha. The table was on top of the ground (like all tables) but it was really low to the ground and there was like a hole under the table to stick your feet in. After that we headed over to the school for pics, to Jackie's for Apples to Apples, back to the school fot the dance, back to Jackie's for a movie (Dumb and Dumber... oh geez. I love the blind kid with Petey the bird) and then I took Gabe home. Then I went home and my mom was like barely awake when I came home. My dad was out, like he would wanna see me! Sunday morning I got up and my mom and dad got me a hammock. AND ITS A FREAKIN HUGE HAMMOCK! When I grow some more I'll still fit in it! If that ever happens. Haha. Well, that was my week! I got an answer!

Hey all! Here's the moment you've all been waiting for! Gabe answered me back today. Whoo hoo! So I walk into first period today all happy and awake (cuz that how I always am in the morning, duh! Just kidding, you've all seen me in the morning and you know its not a pretty site) and I'm just talking to Alyssa and stuff and Mrs. Hayes sets a jar on my desk with M&M's in it. And so I start pouring them out all over my desk and I find all theses letters and I finally find the Y and the E and the S. It was pretty fun. Then I loaded them all back in there. And just so you all know, I only let one M&M drop on the ground and it was a red one and the red ones aren't even my favorite. So its a good thing. Now if it was a green one, that would've been a different story, all hell would've broken loose. Thats my story for today! Love you all!

Recap

Well, I've put basically everything on my last couple posts that has happened this week, but I'll post again. This week was pretty good, on Wednesday I asked a kid to our school dance that is coming up on the 9th. First I need to tell you the story of his birthday party. It was last Friday night I think and I was working and my financial literature teacher came in and I said hi and told her to come through my line. So she came through my line and she was buying a lot of candy bars and whenever anyone is buying a lot of candy bars I say "are ya having a candy party?" So I said that to her and she's all "yeah, its Gabe's birthday party. You should come!" And I told her I was already hanging with my friend Alyssa. And she's like, Well, he knows Alyssa too! You should both come! So I told her I'd talk to her and we'd think about it and she wanted me to call her after work so I could get directions to their house. LOL. By the way her son is a junior and he goes to BL. Anyways, so I call her after I pick up Alyssa and Gabe answers and he gives us directions to their house. So we go, and their house is GORGEOUS! Oh me heavens, and its big and the have this wall that Ali would LOVE! It was red and it had a huge huge window that had a white trim around it. It was gorgeous. She also had sea shells and sea turtle things around and flowers and it was just so pretty! So we hung out and ate cake and stuff. Well, I decided I was going to ask this kid to the dance, but I didn't know if he had been asked or not. So at school I asked Mrs. Hayes (that's my financial lit. teacher) if he had been asked and she said no, so I formulated my plan. So I made a huge ice block with my name in it. I didn't measure it, but I have my Razr with me right now so if you know how big one of those are, it was probably 1 1/2 Razrs by 1 Razr by 1 Razr. (And that is with my Razr opened). Technology at its best Ü. So I drop off the ice chunk on Wednesday night, and I had my friend Amber Houghton come with me and my mom. So me and amber sneak up there all sneaky and I'm carrying the ice block and it was freezing my hands off, and Amber was carrying the paper. The paper said something like "It Would Be Cool If You Went to The Dance With mE". (Notice the me backwards spells Em... my dad came up with that one. We are a clever bunch aren't we?) So we run up there and set it on the porch and run away. It was pretty fun. My mom and I, whenever we ask a kid to the dance we have to drive past once or twice to make sure they got it, so we drove past... once. LOL. You all know about the other things that happened, the water shut off, we had no water for 2 days, so instead of a clever bunch we were a stinky bunch, I went shopping, etc. Today (today being Sunday) Sydney, Brandon, Josh and I went up to Grandma With A Dog (Grandma Medsker) and Syd and I played Philadelphia with G&G. It was pretty fun. If you ever play it with them, grandma really enjoys when you say "Grandam was slow but she was old" when its her turn. She also like on the one that you have to get 2 runs of 4 you talk about how Syd has the runs. which she really didn't, grandma just likes it when you say it. We also ate brownies out of that wicked cool brownie pan Britt gave grandpa (I love it Britt! Everyone is getting me things for when I get married, even though its a long time away, I think you should send me one of those Ü).
